Role Model

This is a movie I made that depicts what it means to be a role model in Hollywood.

  1. I’m actually going to disagree with you here, on a fundamental basis. These girls are role models in the sense that they model a lifestyle that some people find attractive and exciting. If you’re not into that, then you won’t find them to be role models. Whom you model your life after is a relative term. I, for one, am absolutely entertained by the fiascos these women represent and support their right to be as whorish as they want. It’s fun, and only entertainment. I don’t think it’s sad at all. I don’t want to be like any of them of course, but I’d party with and go to bed with almost all of them in a heartbeat!

  2. You raise a very valid point Officer Friendly… role models are indeed relative. These women are sexy as hell, there’s NO DOUBT about that! But… do I want my daughter aspiring to be the next Paris Hilton? FUCK NO!!! Do I want my other daughter to have Anna Nicole Smith goals (“don’t worry mom, i don’t need an education.. i’ll just fuck rich old men and steal their money… it’ll be great”).

I know that there are a lot of women out there who would aspire to be like these women, and I do find that sad, because it’s meaningless, shallow and soulless.

We live in a superficial plastic world though, what can I say.

If I can hook up a slam session with any of these chicks for ya, I will.

  3. I have to say that I am with ya sistah!! That is such a poor display of what made them and got them where they are. Why not have more display of themselves reading through scripts..sweating to be a body double or a college degree…they WANT to look as they do..and they are not leaving much to the imagination. Sick I think it…however Officer…they are hot and a little T-N-A at times is never too bad

  4. I’m not gonna get into this perpetual debate…

But I will say…if you made that video you’ve got some talent in the production department. 🙂

  5. Hi SeLiNa.

I hope you’re doing well today.

A lot of valid points were made here…I’m not sure where I stand at the moment…I plan to watch the video a few more times…Maybe that’ll help.

Are you familiar with What Would Tyler Durden Do? My friends told me about the site and now I read it everyday if possible. This guy is so funny and he discusses a lot of Hollywood’s “it” girls.

I’d better be on my way now though.

    Keep up the great work!

    Take care out there.

    Your Pal,

  6. god i hope none of these people have daughters, they are missing the point, nothing wrong with displaying what you have as an adult in the right arena. but this is teaching young girls to revert back to what they were before the women’s movement lifted them out of slavery. and young girls are bombarded with it everywhere. even if a parent controls it, they see it on their classmates at school. i think it is a wonderful thing to do if you want your daughter to have zero self-respect, and you are happy with the thought of her discarding value for her mind and growing up to be dependant on men, just another urban or surburban whore. you do what you want with your little brittney clone, but i would appreciate it if she showed up at school and displayed modesty and respect for herself. if she wants to look like a slut, let her do that as a worthless adult.

lingo there is a post at north american patriot on your film you may want to speak on. her link is in advocates-goons.

  7. Message or no message, the cleave shots were uhh… very well directed!

    *grin* Great job!

    I’m with Zambo, I think I’ll watch it a few more times…

  8. Good video and great commentary. As a Dad of two daughters, I’m always mixed by such ‘role models’: the teen-aged boy in me is still fascinated by the cleavage and all … the father in me is horrified by the messages being absorbed through the eyes of my own girls …

  9. I hesitate to use the words ‘role model’ on any one of these women for the following reasons:

They haven’t really done anything, that I personally know of at least, to become role models. Girls have to ask themselves, “yes, they are famous, they’re slim and all but what have they actually done?”

I think a role model has to do more with what you’ve done than how you look. I think people commonly misuse the word. But once again, this is merely my opinion.

Unforunately though, these people are needed to define what a role model is not. What is good without bad to define good?

Awesome video, Selina. I look forward to seeing TONS more from you.

  10. Love the video although I couldn’t read the text on some of them because I don’t got the reading skills good.

Personally none of those “ladies” do anything for me. I don’t think they’re that hot. Give brains over body any day.

I’d prefer my conversations with girls to be meaningful rather than having a conversation that closely resembles something only marginally more coherent than talking to a Jack Russell Terrior that’s jumping up at your face.

BTW, what’s the song playing in the background? My workmate thinks it’s Garbage (the band not its musical status).

  11. The track was Losing My Favourite Game by The Cardigans! Kick ass track.

Yeah… I didn’t want to pause on some of the commentary for too long! Some of it isn’t very nice. It serves it’s purpose though.

  12. I didn’t think it was Garbage, it sounded too mellow for them.

I haven’t heard the Cardigans in ages. Need to get an album I guess. Recommend a good one?

  13. Yeah Garbage is a good band. This track is from The Cardigans “Gran Turismo” album, an oldie… came out in 98. They just launched a brand new single this month (ironically & appropriately) called Don’t Blame Your Daughter. Their last full album came out in October or November or something… It’s called Super Extra Gravity.

Aside from The Cardigans… I also like Super Furry Animals, The Charlatans, The White Stripes, The Vines, The Trews… Ahhh forget it, way way way too many to list. I’d be here forever spewing out bands.

  14. Actually moonbat it’s not you it’s me… I’ve been having problems getting my site to notify people that their comments are being moderated… So people aren’t aware if their comment is getting through or not. I am trying to fix it. Sorry.

I deleted the duplicate though. No kick necessary… for me perhaps?!
